Veil of Fear is an episodic psychological horror game for PC, where each episode delivers a standalone story with its own setting, mechanics, and tone, connected by overarching themes of fear, secrecy, and human cruelty.
While some episodes focus on complete helplessness, others may introduce limited weapons or defensive tools, depending on the narrative and design goals of that episode. Survival is never guaranteed — weapons do not mean safety.
The core experience emphasizes immersion and tension through environmental storytelling, exploration, puzzle-solving, and dynamic threats. Inspired by titles like Outlast and Fears to Fathom, Veil of Fear is a flexible episodic horror platform: psychological, survival, action-horror or investigative, while maintaining a consistent identity.
Always night
Every episode happens after dark. Darkness, restricted visibility and sound are the main sources of fear.
Handheld camera
Look through the camcorder to see what the dark hides. Listen closely: sound warns you first.
Every battery counts
Resources run out. Managing batteries and supplies keeps the tension and the pace.
No safe place
Some episodes give you a weapon, most don’t. Either way, survival is never guaranteed.
A pure psychological horror episode focused on vulnerability, exploration, and sustained tension. Vision is limited, sound is unreliable, and survival depends on observation and decision-making rather than force.
Designed as a slow-burn descent into fear, the episode relies on atmosphere, pacing, and player imagination rather than explicit exposition.
